2026 Luncheon
Date: Friday, December 4
Time: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
Location: Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort
One of the most anticipated events of the holiday season, the Community Leaders Luncheon has long served three purposes: to celebrate the individuals and organizations that create educational opportunities for students in our community; to thank our donors and celebrate the Scholarship Foundation’s impact countywide; and to introduce the organization to those who may be unfamiliar with our important work. We invite you to be a part of this annual Scholarship Foundation showcase!

Under his leadership, the nationally ranked Christian liberal-arts institution has experienced record fundraising success, fueling an ambitious campus master plan. In recent years Westmont has added new facilities for the sciences, visual arts, and athletics while creating the Global Leadership Center, the Martin Institute for Christianity and Culture, and the Dallas Willard Center for Spiritual Formation. Dr. Beebe is the author most recently of The Crucibles That Shape Us: Navigating the Defining Challenges of Leadership. He previously served as president of Spring Arbor University in Michigan and as dean of the School of Theology at Azusa Pacific University in Southern California.
Honoree
Supporting the Scholarship Foundation has been a longstanding tradition for Joanne Rapp and her family. Dr. Kermit Seefeld, her late father, served on the Foundation Board in the 1980s, and her daughter Jennifer was a recent member. For her own part, Joanne headed the Board from 1993 to 1995, having joined in 1988, and returned to the organization in 2012 to co-chair its 50th anniversary celebration. An important part of the local nonprofit community for more than 45 years, Joanne has also contributed time and energy on behalf of CALM, the Cottage Hospital Foundation, Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics, and New Beginnings Counseling Center, among others. The Santa Barbara Foundation honored her as a Person of the Year in 2000.
